Students will use these journals to reflect on the reading, make connections between the concepts and current events, and to prepare for the midterm and final essays.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The journals are expected to be 2- 3 pages long, and may be in any format that best facilitates your learning (i.e., outline, narrative, visuals).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To receive full credit for the reading journal, students must include three (3) ‘take aways’ from the chapter- new pieces of information, new perspectives, new understanding, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

AND<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Students must identify a recent (within two years) news story and discuss how it relates to the content of the chapter<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
