This course covers the three main areas of Corrections: Correctional Context and Practices, Institutional Programs and Community Supervision, and Correctional Issues and Perspectives. You will take one of these elements, which can be broken down (i.e., Institutional Programs and Community Supervision may be broken down to Probation, Parole, Community Corrections, Prison and Jobs, Prison Life, Correction Officers, etc.), and research the historical perspective. For this assignment, you will identify the specific area of corrections in which you will conduct your research.<\/p>\n
The paper should summarize how\/where it began and <\/p>\n
is now. The report should also include your thoughts on changes, opinions, and ideas that<\/p>\n
you would employ. These changes can be structural, bureaucratic, etc.<\/p>\n
