    March 1 \u201cRemembrance Day\u201d in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is a national holiday. <\/span><\/p>\n

    It used to be called Nuclear Victims\u2019 Day, then Nuclear Survivors\u2019 Day, and now Remembrance Day. <\/span><\/p>\n

    During that time the U.S. government exploded a total of 67 nuclear bombs in the Marshall Islands. All of these were above-ground, under water, or ground-level tests.<\/span><\/p>\n
