The article should be assessed for evidence and quality level with the Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice. The important information should be synthesized and the student should explain how this either reinforces what they did in clinical or how it might change the care or plan of care that was provided.<\/b><\/p>\n

2. the appropriate checklist<\/p>\n

3. <\/span>Your<\/strong> <\/span>assessment of the article (1 page summary of the article)<\/p>\n

Use the first checklist for a research article or meta-analysis and the second checklist for a non-research article (such as from Dynamed or American Family Physician).  NOTE: the article or guideline should be recent (preferably within the past 2 years and not more than 5 years old).<\/p>\n
