PURPOSE: <\/span>The purpose of a Journal Club is to review current health care and nursing literature, discuss the information and evidence provided, and determine potential practice changes with the ultimate goal of improved patient outcomes. This assignment provides the student the opportunity to present a selected literature review on current health and nursing issues in \u201cworkshop-style\u201d format and <\/span><\/p>\n

LEAD A DISCUSSION ON THE ARTICLES<\/span>. Students will lead the discussion. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in the development of a creative expression of the selected topic and synthesize the results o f their research with the class.<\/span><\/p>\n

HOW TO PROCEED WITH THIS ASSIGNMENT:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Conduct a literature review on your topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Read about 12 articles on the topic, discuss the strengths and limitations of the studies.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Then select 2 articles for the journal club discussion<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Send the selected 2 articles to classmates at least 4 days before your presentation. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Every student in class will receive a copy of the article and is expected to review it before class.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      You will briefly summarize the selected articles and lead a discussion related to the topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      After the student presentation, the power-point will be uploaded to Canvas.<\/span><\/p>\n
