You could pick a case study that you deem as a “myth” or entailing a mythical component and <\/p>\n

research it. <\/span><\/p>\n

A “myth” could be any aspect of human society (or societies). It could include a sports game or a <\/p>\n

theme in the New Testament, such as apocalypse, redemption, or universal love. Myth could be an <\/p>\n

image from Time magazine or an ancient Egyptian myth such as Osiris and Isis. Provide an analysis of the case study (say Osiris) and explain its significance as a myth. You could approach your case from an anthropological, cultural, historical, literary, theoretical, or philosophical way. <\/span><\/p>\n

DO NOT, for instance, write about baptism in a general sense and do research about it that is, across <\/p>\n

Do, for instance, write a history of baptism in the 1950s Civil Rights Movement and how the practice <\/p>\n

was understood by the activists to fight against racism in that specific historical period. You should <\/p>\n

include a broad understanding of baptism as a myth in Christian history and explain why you think it’s a myth. <\/span><\/p>\n

When researching a subject, please make sure you’re analytical. Don’t just describe what you’re writing about, but examine its history, meaning, and implications in ways you want to define it as a myth.<\/p>\n
