This Informational Report is an important part of your

You will give your informational report in the form of a
\nquiz containing four essay questions. You are to write complete answers to each
\nof these questions.<\/p>\n

You have “in and out” privileges to this quiz. You
\ncan come and go as often as you need. There is no time limit.<\/p>\n

You should compose your answers in a word processor and then
\ncopy and paste them into the text box in the quiz when they are complete. This
\nhas two very important advantages:<\/p>\n

You will have a backup copy of your answers in case anything
\ngoes wrong.<\/p>\n

You can use the spell and grammar checkers in the word
\nprocessing program before submitting your answers.<\/p>\n

Re.: this last point: I expect graduate-level writing from
\ngraduate students and professional writing from professional students. Both

Identify one moral issue that you would confront as an
\norganizational leader in your country.<\/p>\n

Describe the situation in your country related to this moral
\nissue (be specific).<\/p>\n

Describe how this moral issue could impact your organization
\nand your leadership of that organization (again, be specific).<\/p>\n

NOTE: A lot of material dealing with international ethics
\ndeals with political or social reform issues, such as poverty, national
\ngovernmental corruption, etc. You should shy away from such large issues and
\nfocus instead on issues that are likely to arise in your daily operations as an
\norganizational leader and your interaction with local culture, communities, and
\ngovernment as an organizational leader. The issue you identify must be an issue
\nwhich you as an organizational leader have some significant power to address.<\/p>\n

NOTE: A moral issue is one that clearly creates morally
\nquestionable practices in the country. Examples of moral issues often faced by
\nmultinational and global organizational leaders are:<\/p>\n

Bribery<\/p>\n

Nepotism<\/p>\n

Product safety or quality<\/p>\n

Poor or unsafe working conditions<\/p>\n

Discrimination against women or certain ethnic groups<\/p>\n

Environmental harm<\/p>\n

Of course you are not limited to the issues on this list.
\nBut what you choose should be something that is obviously similar.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

NOTE: Corruption, per se, is not a moral issue. It is,
\nrather, a category of many different moral issues. These include: bribery,
\nnepotism, influence peddling, insider trading, kickbacks, etc.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So DO NOT identify “Corruption” as the moral issue
\nyou will face. It is WAY too big for you to handle properly. Instead, pick out
\none of the particular issues like those listed above to deal with.  <\/span>Focus instead on issues that are likely to
\narise in your daily operations as an organizational leader and your interaction
\nwith local culture, communities, and government as an organizational leader.
\nThe issues you deal with must be issues which you as an organizational leader
\nhave some significant power to address.<\/p>\n

This question concerns the moral issue you identified in
\nQuestion 3.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Assume you are an organizational leader (from the United
\nStates) employed by a global organization doing business in your chosen
\ncountry. Create a plausible hypothetical scenario in which you, as an
\norganizational leader in this global organization doing business in your chosen
\ncountry, face a moral dilemma resulting from the issue you chose in your answer
\nto Question 3 above. Explain the moral dilemma. <\/p>\n

By \u201cplausible hypothetical scenario\u201d I mean a scenario which
\nincludes a situation that is typical of situations organizational leaders from
\nthe United States employed by a global organization may face when doing
\nbusiness in your chosen country.<\/p>\n

You must provide documentation for your claim that this
\nsituation is a plausible scenario in your chosen country.<\/p>\n

Review the following document for examples of plausible
\nhypothetical scenarios: EXAMPLES OF “PLAUSIBLE HYPOTHETICAL
\nSCENARIOS” FOR RESEARCH PROJECT<\/p>\n

Question 5<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Question 520 pts<\/p>\n

Identify two alternative solutions that you can use to
\nresolve the moral dilemma in the hypothetical scenario you created in your
\nanswer to Question 4.  <\/span>These two
\nsolutions to this moral dilemma must be incompatible (if you move forward with
\none, you cannot move forward with the other). They must also be solutions which
\nyou, as an organizational leader, can implement.<\/p>\n

For each alternative solution, identify one moral principle
\nthat supports it. Explain how the principle supports the solution.<\/p>\n

These moral principles must come from those identified and
\ndescribed in the course materials.<\/p>\n

Be creative in identifying your possible responses to the
\nmoral issue as an organizational leader.<\/p>\n

Identify the pros and cons associated with each alternative
\nsolution.<\/p>\n

NOTE 1: “Do nothing\/accept the status quo” is
\nalways an option and must be one of your your two alternative solutions.
\nRegardless of the issue there will always be pros to this option.<\/p>\n

\npros and cons. They could be economic, practical, etc.<\/p>\n

NOTE 3: At this time DO NOT make any speculation or judgment

\nthrough the possibilities and their pros and cons.<\/p>\n
