\ncompetition. For this assessment you will write a research report of 2,000
\nwords on an ergogenic aid, responding to the question:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Can menthol keep
\nyour athlete cool and boost their performance?<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

You will first assess the evidence you find in the scientific
\nliterature on whethe<\/span>r<\/span> <\/span>the use of menthol
\n(co-ingested with or incorporated into a gel or cold\/iced-slurry beverage) <\/span>leads to improved performance and
\npresent your findings in the form of an evidence table. Then you will write the
\nreport which includes a summary of the evidence, reputed biochemical and\/or
\nphysiological pathways, and the recommendations based on the evidence including
\nAIS categorisation. Where required, templates and other supports are provided
\nto assist you in responding to this task.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are two related parts to this assessment piece, which need to
\nbe submitted together<\/span> in
\nONE document. The word count for this assessment is 2000 words (guidance is
\nprovided below on the word count for each part). The word count DOES include
\nin-text referencing and the evidence table and DOES NOT include diagrams, other
\ntables, legends and reference lists. If you are over or under the total word
\ncount by 10% then marks are deducted (refer to the marking guide<\/span><\/a>). The exception to this is where
\nstudents have presented seven or more articles in their literature summary
\ntable.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When considering references for your answers,
\nyou may use the course readings, but are also expected to research information
\nmore widely and refer to additional literature. Remember that in many instances
\nthe videos provided in the weekly materials are for teaching and illustrative
\npurposes, so it is expected that you use scholarly publications for your
\nassessments rather than reference these sources.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nuse the APA 7 referencing system<\/span> <\/span>for in-text references and your reference list for ALL material which is
\nnot your own. This includes academic references, quality primary sources e.g.
