My name is Eli Crenshaw-Smith and I’m a fourth year sociology major from Brooklyn, NY! Academically, I’m mostly interested in urban sociology: my developing thesis, for example, is on gentrification and public transportation in Nashville, and I’ve been a part of an ongoing project with Professor Cornfield on (primarily urban) Local Arts Agencies and their community demographic contexts since the summer after my freshman year. I also enjoy performing, and am involved in theater and dance groups Vanderbilt University Theater (VUT) and Nilaja Amari on campus. Outside of school I’ve worked in the programming departments of organizations such as the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Bryant Park Corporation during my past two summers, and can see myself doing arts programming or something similar in the future.<\/div>\n
