You must provide a complete APA style reference for your
\narticle. This must include the full title of the<\/p>\n

article, the authors, and the journal, book or source for
\nyour article.<\/p>\n

Second: The Summary (1-2 slides)<\/p>\n

The summary should be a complete but condensed version of
\nthe article. It should mention each of<\/p>\n

the main points stated in the article, for instance, if
\nthere is a paragraph in the article that discusses<\/p>\n

the effectiveness of a specific medication for depression,
\nthere should be at least one sentence that<\/p>\n

summarizes that point.<\/p>\n

The summary should be dry and factual. There should be none
\nof your passion or voice in the<\/p>\n

summary and you should be careful not to present the passion
\nor voice of the article author as if it<\/p>\n

were your own. This is not a report of on what you think is
\nmost relevant in the article, it is a factual<\/p>\n

summary of what the article is. There will be space for your
\nopinion in the response section.<\/p>\n

Third: Critical Evaluation (1-2 slides)<\/p>\n

This section should be a 5 bullet points or so that
\nevaluates the information offered in the article. The<\/p>\n

article is almost always making a claim of some sort. The
\nauthor is almost always trying to convince<\/p>\n

you of something. Your job is to figure these things out and
\nevaluate whether or not the article is<\/p>\n

convincing. Be skeptical but also be fair.<\/p>\n

This section should include but is not limited to questions
\nlike:<\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>What claims are being made?<\/p>\n

–       
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>What evidence has been provided to support the
\nclaims (research study, expert opinion…)?<\/p>\n

–       
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span>Is the
\nevidence credible (are the tests relevant, can they be repeated, examine
\nvalidity and<\/p>\n

reliability).<\/p>\n

–       
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Did the author provide good examples and define
\nterms well enough to make the point clear?<\/p>\n

–       
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>What contemporary theoretical perspective in
\npsychology best explains the claims being<\/p>\n

made?<\/p>\n

Fourth: Response (2-3 slides)<\/p>\n

This is the place for you to offer your personal opinion. Do
\nyou agree or disagree with the claim (why<\/p>\n

or why not), Can you apply what the article said to
\nsomething in your own life or experience…..I want<\/p>\n

\n

to know what you think\/ feel ….about what you have learned
\nfrom these articles.<\/p>\n
