\nusing the biopsychosocial model. Examples include heart disease, cancer,
\n AIDS, diabetes, and the obesity epidemic. You will:<\/p>\n

  1. Describe this issue and justify why you believe it is a global issue
    \n rather than a local or national one. Thoroughly discuss regions of the
    \nworld that have been more\/less heavily impacted by this crisis.<\/li>\n
  2. Discuss key issues from the biopsychosocial standpoint that have contributed to this epidemic.<\/li>\n
  3. Describe what is being done currently to deal with the epidemic (include key interventions and research in this area).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Please remember to cite your sources by including a references
    \nsection with a minimum of 8-10 citations of valid, scientific sources.
    \nCitations and references should be written in APA style. Please do your
    \nbest to keep references as current as possible (e.g., 2000 \u2013 present).<\/p>\n

    • Biopsychosocial factors contributing to the epidemic: Discuss key
      \nissues from the biopsychosocial standpoint that have contributed to this
      \n epidemic. Describe how psychology, society, and biology play a role in
      \nyour topic. How does nature\/nurture play a role? What does the
      \nbiopsychosocial model say?<\/li>\n
    • Current handing of the epidemic: How are we currently dealing with
      \nthis epidemic. Is research being conducted? Any interventions?<\/li>\n
    • You must have references and in-text citations. You should have a
      \nminimum of 8 to 10 references. In-text citations are NECESSARY for every
      \n part of this paper.  Remember, this is a research paper, so you should
      \nbe describing each area based on what the research states.  I realize
      \nsome of you may already have knowledge regarding your topic, but you
      \nmust support your knowledge with in-text citations. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Final Draft<\/h3>\n

      The final draft is due April 6. All the information that the group
      \nhas compiled throughout the checkpoints should be edited together into
      \none document that will be submitted by a member in the group to the
      \nFinal Group Project assignment linked in the Modules page (it can also
