During our previous classes we have been talking about architectural developments in the 18th and 19th century and the impact of the industrial revolution on this. Though the industrial revolution started in the mid 18th century (around 1750 AD) however we will not start the see the actual impact of this on architecture until the 19th century. In this century we will start to see what is known as “The Dilemma of Style” arising producing two very different approaches to architecture, i.e. Historicism versus Modernity (powered by industrialization) in architecture.<\/p>\n
