A student\u2019s original discussion post should be at least 250 words but not over 350 words.  A student\u2019s Peer Response Post should <\/span>not be less<\/b> <\/span>than 100 words. The Peer Posting follow-up <\/span>must be<\/u> <\/span>supported with a <\/span>fact from a classmate\u2019s original post, or the peer\u2019s article, and <\/span>support<\/b> <\/span>the peer response post with information from the textbook or article<\/u>. S<\/span>tudents should <\/span>refrain from commenting on their peers’ grammar or formatting<\/i>, I will take these items during the grading process. <\/span><\/p>\n

Each original discussion and the peer posting response (follow-up) are worth a total of 25 points. Students can earn up to 15 points for student original discussion post and 10 points for their peer response posting. <\/span>Discussion points will be awarded once a discussion closes.<\/i> <\/span>The analysis of the student\u2019s overall quality of the original post and peer response postings based on the following rubrics:<\/span><\/p>\n

The original discussion should include the following <\/span>minimum<\/u> <\/span>information.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. The article utilized in the student’s original post is from a peer-reviewed article or a reputable website (i.e., National Health Organization, American Psychological Organization, etc.) published <\/span>within the last <\/span>two years<\/u><\/b>. Do not use <\/span>WIKIs as a source<\/u><\/b>\u2026 Wikis that are used as the source will receive zero points.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Did the student provide a direct quote from the textbook and their article? Was the in-text citation for the quotation in APA writing style?<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Article and textbook citations were written in the APA writing style (Was the article source citation provided for the original discussion post <\/span>and<\/b> <\/span>peer response post)?<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Is the original discussion structured and organized in a logical order (Is the discussion post grammatically correct)?<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Content Knowledge and Research (Was the research discussed in the article addressed? Was an example provided and supported with data from the article?).  <\/span><\/p>\n

6. Analysis and Evaluation (The student displayed originality by thoughtfully creating arguments and connecting facts in innovative ways.).<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Was the discussion submitted by the deadline provided in the syllabus schedule? Was the original post at least 250 words in length but not over 350 words?<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
