For this assignment, <\/span>analyze<\/strong> <\/span>how the Cable act of 1922  relies on racial, ethnic, gender, sexual, and\/or class categories to regulate immigration admission and exclusion, to produce \u201cAmerican\u201d identity. In other words, explain how this law defines what is \u201cAmerican\u201d and what constitutes the US nation-state.  <\/span><\/p>\n

As a second part of your analysis, explain why this matters in relation to our class material (The material given are the court cases Ozawa v. United States and Unites States v. Bhagwan Singh Thind. Another way to think of this is: How is this law reflective of the processes and systems that we have discussed in our course in terms of defining who is and who is not part of the US nation-state.<\/p>\n
