What your study might add to the body of knowledge…how social media shapes marginalized groups political beliefs and actions.  That’s good too<\/p>\n

Your Design points are not practical and you can refine these going forward with the proposal.<\/p>\n

It is OK to do observations & interviews<\/span> <\/span>in the “group” you identify….in-operson and on-line?  This is what you mean by “ethnographic<\/span> <\/span>observations of online groups”.  You will need access and permission from participants to observe.<\/p>\n

Surveys are a method but you cannot do both intensive interviewes and surveys of the same population. As another method, it is too cumbersome to do this on top of foing your other observation, interviews, and content analysis.<\/p>\n
