The student may select a speech or an artifact from a specific social movement, corporate, or political campaign. The student will study the context in which the persuasive message was delivered and the verbal and nonverbal dimensions of the message to determine the persuasive effort&#8217;s relative success. Remembering that the \u201cpublic good\u201d lies with the quality of its champions, students will evaluate the ethical implications of this persuasive effort and whether it could positively or negatively influence individuals, communities, and institutions.
