Participation is a very important component of this class, so discussion boards are a required
\ncomponent for this course as an indicator of participation. To complete a discussion board
\nappropriately, you need to meet several criteria:
\n\u2022 A minimum response for initial post is 200 words.
\n\u2022 Every initial response is required to include, minimum, two credible resources to support
\nyour response.
\n\u2022 Every response must be completed in APA style. That includes all citations, references
\nand format.
\n\u2022 The initial post for each discussion is due by 11:59 PM CST
\n\u2022 Once you post your initial response, you will be able to see your other classmates\u2019 posts.
\n\u2022 You must respond to, at least, two other students in class in their discussion boards as
\nwell as any questions from the professor or others. You are required to actively
\ncommunicate with other students in this class. Responses should have substance.
\nResponse with statements simply with \u201cI agree\u201d and no explanation on why you agree
\nare not acceptable.
\n\u2022 If you do not meet all the requirements, you will not receive any credit for the discussion
\nboard.
\n\u2022 I always suggest that students write their discussion board posts in Word or other word
\nprocessing software rather than directly into Blackboard. This allows you to save your
\nwork and to make corrections before you post your work publicly. Blackboard has,
\nregrettably, been known to eat some thoughtful and insightful responses simply because
