Writing Prompt
Select a problem in the world today at any level (personal, local, state, global) and investigate realistic solutions to the problem. Analyze the solution(s) for cost, feasibility, and enforcement as part of your research. Structure your essay based on one of the various graphic organizers provided in the lesson.
Your written assessment should include
- a title page,
- a minimum two page, typed (12 pt. Times New Roman font) and double spaced problem-solution essay that includes APA citations, and
- an annotated bibliography page with three reliable sources (see Module 4 for instructions).

- References – written on separate page after the essay
- Essay structure:4-5 paragraph essay structure (an introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion).
- Body paragraphs should:
- provide support and evidence of the topic, citing line numbers
- Conclusion should wrap up the essay and reflect back on the topic/thesis
How to reference line numbers in APA format: Example: Line 14 explains how the lack of sun was normal for the man (London, n.d.)
OR
Example: Line 14 states, “He was used to the lack of sun” (London, n.d.).
*** (n.d.) stands for “no date” and indicates the publication date was not provided
