Cardiopulmonary Disease Pathophysiology Project
The project will be a group
endeavor that will require teamwork, collaborative research, and presentation
of the project.
The group will decide on a topic for the project based on
the required criteria list below. This
does not preclude your group from picking a disease covered in class; however, if
the group does decide to pick a disease discussed in your required textbook
(Des Jardins, Pathology) the group should present it with a more in-depth
perspective.
Topic:
- Must be a cardiopulmonary
disease that a respiratory therapist is involved in for treatment and
management of the disease. - Develop a question about the disease that compares and
contrasts one of the following: different treatment methods, and/or diagnostic
methods, and/or management for the disease. (i.e. PICO question)
Research:

The research must come from either a medical
journal, program textbook, or a reliable internet source.
·
A copy of all research used must be submitted to
the instructor.
- A minimum of three (4) resources are to be utilized in
your research. Only 2 may be an
internet source, a minimum of 2 must be a medical journal or medical book.
Make sure any internet source used is a reliable source, all internet
sources must be approved by the instructor.
Content: The research project must
include the following:
1.
Discuss the etiology of the disease
2.
Discuss the epidemiology of the disease
3.
Discuss and Explain the signs and symptoms of the
disease
