The first is that using an AI program as a tool to help you find information. Just as in our parent’s or grandparent’s day, they had the card catalogue. Then came search engines, and now we have AI. However, be cautious. First, consider the source. The newest AI out of China called DeepSeek is taking off, but some people forget that it is subject to the same government restrictions on information that the Chinese people face. Always pay attention to where AI is pulling information. For example, Wikipedia is not considered to be a reliable academic source. Also, the information obtained from an AI source is not guaranteed to be correct (called hallucinations). Just this semester, I used an AI program to verify the answer to a question about the inventor of a product. I got three different answers to the same question when I asked it three times so verify your information. Lastly, the information you receive from AI is only as good as the prompt you write. The more specific you are, the better your results. For example, if I asked for a recipe using milk, I’ll get one recipe that could be anything that uses milk. A better prompt is find 15 easy recipes for breakfast that use milk and sausage.
The second component of this assignment involves the long history of conflicts between management and unions. In some cases, these conflicts can be resolved through negotiation. However, sometimes it may lead to a walk out or strike.
Required:
Using an AI program such as Claude, Microsoft Co-Pilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity, or another AI tool to find a case of where the conflict between management and unions actually led to a lockout or a strike. Hopefully, the AI tool you used provided you with the sources of the information so that you can go to the source for more information. (Your AI results may not provide you with all the information you need so further research is required.)
Under no circumstances are you to copy/paste the answer for AI and submit it as your own. That is academic dishonesty, and most educators I know consider that to be cheating.

6. Did violence or other illegal activity (ex. vandalism) occur with the walkout or strike?
7. What was the outcome of the conflict?
8. Which AI tool(s) did you use to find the case?
