Interdisciplinary Approach: “Interdisciplinary” information relates to more than one branch of knowledge. For this project, you will engage in interdisciplinary research to explore their selected topics through multiple lenses, or branches of knowledge, such as history, literature, sociology, economics, culture, psychology, and/or political science.
Overview:
In this task, you will create a presentation using Powerpoint that explores a contemporary issue in the working life. Your instructor will provide a list of contemporary issues; you will select an issue and then sign up for one of the sub-topics within that issue in the ILS2090 Research Project Topic Sign-up Discussion Forum during Week 9. Your instructor will evaluate the content and research in your presentation. All student presentations will be shared with the entire class, adding to our class knowledge.
You will create an informational presentation that incorporates research and engages readers with text, images, visual storytelling, audio, and video. Your presentation should include:
1. An overview of your issue and sub-topic – what it is, why it’s important, and your approach and/or angle
2. Organized information with research about the issue and sub-topic
3. A conclusion that summarizes the project’s approach and findings
4. A bibliography with research materials and resources.
Note: Your grade will be based on the content, not on the design of your project.
Additionally, you will submit a separate ILS2090 Research Project Reflection about the process of creating the project.
