Journal entry should be between 350 and 500 words each (of text proper). Journal entries should include the student’s name, the # of the chapter(s) discussed or the lecture addressed, the date, and a title. Double space, include 1-inch margins, and correctly and appropriately cite referenced materials using a modified APA format for reference and citations, including parenthetical in-text references, EXCEPT no title page necessary. For each entry, the student should report on something they have learned about one or more concepts introduced in the designated chapters and/or from a guest lecture, making sure to clearly identify the concept(s) chosen, reference some materials from outside the chapter, and include a personal story to provide support and context. For example, for the referenced material, the student may read and reference published material, view a TED talk, listen to a podcast, watch an online lecture, view or listen to a story from The Moth, etc., … and the student should tell a personal story that illustrates the concept.
