Assignment Content
For assignment 3, you will be writing your first essay. You are required to submit a five paragraph essay (an essay that includes an introduction, three body paragraphs and a conclusion).
Chose one of the following topics for your essay.
an important event that changed your life (ex. marriage, becoming a parent, moving, a loss)
OR
the effects of a recent technological invention on society (ex. smartphone, tablets, etc.)
Make sure that your introduction catches the reader’s attention and includes the thesis statement for the essay as a whole.
Each body paragraph should include a topic sentence and support the thesis statement.
Remember that the concluding paragraph is where you hit your point home. (It should not introduce new ideas.)
NOTE: Make sure that you review the rubric that will be applied to your essay.
