Research Objectives: In In order to achieve the general aim of this research, a number of objectives have
been defined and will be addressed throughout this research. These have been
specified as follows:
1.
To have an in-depth
and comprehensive literature review of contemporary research, online
databases, conference proceedings, and company reports, in order to provide a
comprehensive understanding of the benefits that organizations may expect as a
result of the implementation of PM principles.
2.
To conduct an
analysis to recognize the currently encountered problems and issues, including
perceived complexities and uncertainty regarding the time and scope of work,
financial inconsistencies, poor planning and failure, and lack of coordination
between stakeholders.
3.
To evaluate the impact
of project management principles on Downtime Reduction,
Risk Management Practices, Resource Utilization, Communication and Stakeholder
Engagement,
4.
To Identify
the Challenges, Areas for Continuous improvement, and recommendations for
future implementation.
This research
aimed to enable NMES to improve their outage management system and operation by
exploring the following question:
1.
What are
the current challenges faced by NMES staff members in the current outage
management system (OMS) principles? In addition, what are their suggestions on
how can we improve OMS in light of PM?
2.
What are the benefits and
improvement of implementing the project management principles into NMES outage
management procedure.
