Submit three topic ideas for your Final Paper. Be sure to review the Final Paper instructions found in the Assignment Instructions Folder. Your topics should be formatted as a yes/no question.
Please submit a 1-2 page outline of you final paper through Blackboard. This assignment should
be in outline form (rather than paragraph form).
Your paper outline is worth 5% of your overall grade and should include the following:
Intro: 30 pts Statement of your research question
Thesis statement—this should be clearly
identifiable, and more than a one-sentence
summary of your research paper. Tie it to
your position on the question at hand.
Body: 50 pts 2 proponent arguments
2 opponent arguments
Ex: If you chose to research whether the U.S.
should continue to use the Electoral College,
include 2 arguments in favor of the College,
and 2 arguments against it.
Your position on the argument (this will relate
back to your thesis statement)
**You are free to organize your arguments in
whichever order makes the most sense to you,
just be sure that all the components are
included
Citations: 10 pts 2 or more reliable citations you plan to use in
your paper—these should be properly cited
using your preferred citation style
**Note: Wikipedia is not considered a
reliable source
Style: 10 pts Times New Roman
12-point font
Proper spelling/grammar
See next page for a sample outline.
