Students will submit a grant proposal (max 1,750 words) whereby cognitive methods are
proposed to investigate topics from cognitive psychology (e.g., attention, memory, thinking, decision-making, language). When designing a proposal, you should consider previous cognitive psychological research. For example, if your chosen topic is `risky decision-making,`
you should review previous research related to your chosen topic. In this case, you should
look at studies that have investigated risky decision-making. You should evaluate previous
research and use this to develop a research proposal that extended the literature.

You have been provided with a research proposal template to use when preparing your
research application form that contains section-by-section guidance on how to complete each
section. This can be found in the Module Assessment tab.
The proposal should include the study objectives, rationale and study design, as well as
overview any potential feasibility and ethical issues. In addition, the intended benefits of the research should be clearly stated and a 200-word `opening` lay summary included.
