Assessment brief/s:
Students will be required to arrange and present a research proposal in the form of a
narrated PowerPoint with an equivalent word count of 2,000 words. The PowerPoint
should be no more than 15 minutes in length. This presentation/proposal will
include:
• Background and overview of the research, including the rationale for
choosing to explore this specific topic.
• Key terms associated with this topic, by way of locating the research in a
theoretical, and/or conceptual, context.
• A clear research question(s), (and possible sub-questions).
• Methodological information.
• A scoping of literature relevant to the research.
• Links between the topic/research focus and social work.
• A timeline (Gantt chart)
• Conclusions.
• References.
• An annotated bibliography (which will be part of appendices and thus the
words used here will not count to the 2000-word limit).
