Research Paper suggested outline:
Write a research paper on the following. The Assignment has three (3) requirements:
Do an introduction paragraph about the history of Ford, what their products are, where they operate, and their mission statement.
Next:
- Use the attached annual report file , a publicly traded company that is listed on a U.S. stock exchange. Analyze the financial statements for the company and review for large movements in specific accounts from one year to the next. Evaluate the balance sheet to determine if there are large changes in the company’s assets, liabilities, or equity accounts. In addition, the income statement and statement of cash flows should be analyzed.
This section has three paragraphs (one for each statement) explaining any large changes you see from the prior year on the balance sheet, the income statement and the cash flow statements. Follow that, in table format where you copy in your horizontal and vertical analyses of the income statement and balance sheet. You can try Chatpgt.com or Copilot for help with that.
- Prepare a horizontal and vertical analysis of the income statement and the balance sheet.
Include the ratio analysis after part 1 tables. I would put that on a table format also and explain what you see of importance when you review the results of your ration analysis. You can compute those yourself, but you would be wise to use AI to make the computations.
2. At a minimum, calculate the following ratios for two (2) years: the debt-to-equity ratio, current ratio, quick ratio, return on equity, and net profit margin. For each ratio, explain what the ratio tells about the company.
- Utilize an AI tool to prepare your ratio analysis for this portion. Feel free to utilize any tool that you wish. Be sure to include the citation for the tool used. ChatGPT seems to work well for this. You can sign up for this at no charge at Chatgpt.com. You can also use ChatGPT to provide horizontal and vertical analysis if you wish. Copilot works well also.
End with a summary paragraph explaining your overall assessment of Ford from a potential investors standpoint. You can also visit sites like Yahoo finance F, Google Finance or CNN Money to find more information.
