The
task: 
Students are expected to use at least three
high-quality research sources to support their analysis and interpretation.
These sources must be included in a reference list. The presentation will
cover:
- Analysis of at least two
 significant creative writing techniques used by the author of the chosen
 short story, discussing the ways in which the author uses these techniques
 and offering examples from the text.
- Interpretation of the short
 story and discussion of the writer’s intentions, drawing on specific
 evidence from the text.
- Considered reflection on your
 experience of reading and analysing the text, and commentary on how
 specific techniques in this text might be drawn on in your own writing
 practice.
- Commentary on aesthetic or
 thematic connections you have identified between this text and others we
 have discussed in this course.
The
presentation should include at least 3 high-quality research sources. 
They
might be:
- Sources relating to the
 specific story
- Sources relating to the
 author’s body of work more broadly
- Sources relating to the form
 (i.e. the short story form itself)
- Sources relating to the style
 or genre (i.e. contemporary domestic realist short fiction/ fabulist short
 fiction etc)
- Sources relating to specific
 writing techniques.
