To finish this course, and the lesson of the importance of fire research, please read the Abstract page V, the Executive Summary pages VX to VXII, and Chapters 1, 2, & 3 pages 1- 75 in the following National Institute of Standards and Technology paper: You are not limited to these pages of reading but they will be adequate for your writing assignment as they have quite a bit of information.

Then write a 2 to 2 1/2 page paper (600 words minimum in Min Body of text- DOES NOT INCLUDE Word Count from Title, Abstract, or References), APA Format, 12 point font, DOUBLE spaced, 1″ margins, on the application of the knowledge gained. Do not exceed 10% of your paper as direct quotations. Include in your paper:

*Measurement science
*The goals of the research
*Research methodology used
*The fire problem
*Trends
*Current Gaps and identified future research needs
