Step 2: Research is required for this assignment. Gather information from a variety of sources (books, academic databases, magazines, websites, interviews, etc.).   At a minimum, you need 4 sources that have been checked for bias and these sources must be included as proper APA or MLA format in-text and listed in a Works Cited list.  

Step 3: Organize your speech with an attention-getting introduction that introduces the topic, connects with your audience, establishes your credibility, states your one-sentence central idea, and previews your points. Conclude the speech with a review of your main points, a restatement of your central idea, and end with a vivid “clincher” or sense of closure.  Cover each main point of your speech with appropriate support from your research.   Review example outline.

Step 5: Submit your edited preparation outline as a Microsoft Word document (doc. docx. or pdf.) In order for your speech to be graded, you must submit a preparation outline via Canvas by due date.
