Assignment: Compare and contrast the Mexican American and Chicano generations. Explain how they defined their identity and what institutional barriers each of them encounter in US society. Regardless of your heritage, discuss in what ways you would or would not identify with a 1960s Chicana/o identity or struggle (i.e. educational, social, political, etc.).
Requirement: Write a 3 page essay that is double spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 point font, Times Roman. Reference or quote specific examples, evidence, or ideas from the course readings, lectures, and films. Make sure your essay has a thesis, conclusion, and is spell checked, and then upload to Canvas.
Grading Rubric: For full credit answer all three parts of the prompt and references ideas from the readings.

- 5 points for writing a double-spaced complete paper, 1-inch margins, 12-point font, and Times Roman.
- 5 points for referencing or quoting specific examples, evidence, or ideas from the course material and ensuring that your paper has a thesis and conclusion and is spell-checked and uploaded to Canvas.

Just browse and look some of the readings up that I will share with you down below and you can choose any ones you want to write about. Please use the films “Chicano!
