The serious health implications linked with children’s high screen media usage are numerous, ranging from a risk of impairment of their cognitive, linguistic and socio-emotional development. This study discusses developmental areas affected by screens usage and presents algorithm to manage children’s usage. Although, screens can provide an educational boost, endless screen exposure and at the same time, multitasking in certain cases can be associated with retarded working memory and lowered academic performance. The lack of language interaction between caregiver and child due to screens may impede the development of their language skills (Muppalla et al. 2023). Excessive screen time contributes to childhood bedwetting, lack of sleep, and disorders like depression and anxiety. Parents need to establish boundaries, encourage alternate activities or they can supersede with negative effects. As a result, children will have well-balanced lives.
