Part A: Locate a peer reviewed journal article that utilizes Malcolm Knowles’ Theory of Adult Learning. Reflect on how knowledge of this theory has the potential to influence your nursing practice when teaching an adult patient/client about their health condition. Identify the manner in which you learn best. What steps would you take to adapt your teaching style to someone who learns differently from you? Part B: Conduct another scholarly search (Steely library, Google Scholar, etc.) and find a professional research/EBP journal article that is about a health problem of a underserved or vulnerable population. Identify this population (be specific) and write a description of it. Discuss the health problem found in this population that your journal article addresses. Is there a theory that is identified in the article? Discuss why this theory is appropriate. If you do not see a theory named, choose one based on your research that is applicable to this population. If you were a nurse who is taking care of a member of this population, what educational need can you identify based on information from the article? Address any learning barriers that exist in this population. How would you address these barriers in order to promote learning success? How would you measure successful learning in this population? Your first post is due by Wednesday at 11:59 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time) of the Module 6 week. Your second post which responds to two other students is due by Sunday at 11:59 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time) of Module week 6. COs: 2, 3 MOs: 1, 2
