DETAILS
In this assessment, you are required to develop a literature review that analyses at least 3 or 4 selected articles that relate to your chosen problem or issue. These articles will reflect different and diverse perspectives of the problem (i.e. service user, practitioner, policy perspective) and will be sourced from peer-reviewed journals or other credible sources e.g. Government reports. To assist you in writing your literature review you will have analysed each article using the Literature Analysis Grid discussed in detail in Session 4.
Please structure your literature review in accordance with accepted conventions as reflected in the Structure for Literature Review provided below. Note that your literature review will include a personal and critical reflection of the key learnings you have gained about the problem as a result of completing this assessment task.
INSTRUCTIONS
You will work on this assessment task with the support of your educator during session times and independently by actively drawing on session activities and materials provided on the VUC subject site.
Please follow the guide provided below, as this will ensure that you address the key criteria needed for Assessment 2. Successful completion of this task will assist you to do well in Assessment 3.
Structure for Literature Review 2,500 words

Background
- What is the topic under investigation
- Why is it important and to whom?
- Outline the structure of your review and define any key concepts
Method: 300 words
- What did you do to develop your literature review?
- Describe your search strategies, and how you made your decisions about what literature to include.
Introduce the Themes: 500 words
- What are the themes that you have identified from the literature?
Discussion: 1000 words
- Discuss each of the themes identified above including how they relate to each other.
Conclusion: 500 words
- Summary of what you have learnt about the problem
- Implications you have identified for social work practice
- Personal and critical reflection of key learning you have gained about the problem/issue as a result of completing this literature review
