This week, you have the opportunity to connect with a mental health provider to discuss what some of these concepts look like in practice. For this assignment, be sure to address the following:
- Set up an interview (via phone, Zoom, or in-person) with a mental health professional, first responder, educator, or community leader that works with trauma survivors.
- Construct a list of questions you plan to ask them. You will use your questions as a guide for your interview. You will type up the questions and responses you receive for the paper you submit this week.
- Be sure you ask them about:
- the populations they treat
- the theoretical models they use
- specific interventions they find helpful for trauma survivors
- challenges they face
- how they consider body, mind, and spirit in their treatment of survivors
- how/if they incorporate a multicultural approach to treating trauma survivors
- Include a reflection of your interview of approximately 1 page
