Methodology
The research will use a mix-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data in order to gain a comprehensive insight into employee turnover in the hospitality industry.
Quantitative research:
A questionnaire will be distributed to 150-200 current and former hospitality employees (hotels, resorts, airlines). The questionnaire will include questions addressing employee satisfaction, reasons for leaving previous positions or employers, and suggestions for improvement. The questionnaire will include Likert-scale questions in order to help address issues such as work-life balance, compensation and training opportunities.
Qualitative research:
Conduct interviews with a minimum of 4 former employees of the hospitality industry additionally conduct a semi-structured interview with a minimum of 2 managers. That will provide more insight on the current practices and challenges employees face.
For the purpose of the sampling a minimum of 6 months in the position will be required and a range of different job roles is desired.
