Macroeconomics is the part of economics concerned with large-scale or general economic factors, such as interest rates and national productivity. During this Macroeconomics class you will prepare a report investigating a part of the macroeconomic landscape in the U.S.A. Your report will be a professional paper.
- Cover Page: The report should begin with a cover page that includes the title of the report, the student’s name, course code (ECON-202), date of submission, and your name as the author.
- Title Page: Following the cover page, include a title page that reiterates the report’s title and the student’s name. If an image is used on the cover page, then cite the source here.
- Table of Contents: Create a table of contents to provide an overview of the report’s structure and page numbers for each section.
- List of Figures and List of Tables: Include separate lists that enumerate all figures and tables in the report, along with their corresponding page numbers.
- APA Citations: Throughout the report, students should use APA format for citations. This includes citing sources for all citable statements, as well as citing the source of data used in each table and figure. Even if students create figures (e.g., Excel charts), they should cite themselves as the creator and the source of the data. This may result in double citations for many figures and tables. You will be shown how to use the software to make this happen.
- Word Processing Format: The content of the report should be in 11-point Times New Roman or Calibri font. Headings can be larger (12 or 14) and in bold. Use the Stylesheet settings of your Word Processing program to control formatting.
- MS Word Stylesheets, Citation Manager, and Reference Manager: I encourage students to utilize Microsoft Word Stylesheets, a Citation Manager, and a Reference Manager. These tools can significantly expedite the report preparation process. I will provide guidance and demonstrations in class to ensure students are proficient in using these tools.
- Report Length: The written content of the report should be approximately 1,500 words, excluding the cover page, title page, or works cited summary.
- Works Cited Summary: At the end of the report, include a Works Cited summary that lists all the sources referenced in the report. This should follow APA citation guidelines.
