This project culminates what you have learned in the class. For this assignment, you will divide into groups, select a medium to large size public company, and create a 25-30 page (excluding charts, graphs, exhibits, appendices and references) written organizational analysis for the company. The written analysis should be divided into two sections (be sure to use subheadings) and should include the information below (textbook references shown in parentheses):
1) External Environment: Determine the state of the organization’s external environment using the framework shown in Exhibit 4.7 in the textbook. Does the organization’s predominant design (organic or mechanistic) match its environment (see Exhibit 4.7)? Describe the organization’s stage of development using Exhibit 10.2 and (if applicable) stage of decline using Exhibit 10.8. Provide reasons and evidence for your answers (3-4 pages).
2) Internal Structure: describe the organization’s structure and assess its strengths and weaknesses considering the organization’s strategies and external environment using Exhibits 3.7-3.19. Provide reasons and evidence for each of your answers (2-3 pages).
