1. Do not write on a topic other than the ones specified. AN ESSAY ON A TOPIC OTHER THAN THE ONES ASSIGNED WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE.
2. Choose ONE of the 2 writing prompts and respond. Select the topic about which you think you can do your best writing.
3. Organization of your essay is important. Think toward the development of a good thesis sentence, some specific supporting points, and a definite conclusion.
In general, the passing essay will require that you:
write an essay addressing one of the assigned topics;
state and develop a central idea;
have an organization which is indicative of an overall plan;
appropriately and thoroughly discuss the assigned topic; and
avoid serious errors in diction, grammar, sentence structure, and paragraph development.
4. This is not a research paper. No research allowed. Plagiarized and researched essays will receive a zero. Plagiarism includes the use of AI assisted and AI generated tools.
5. Allow ample time for editing and proofreading.
6. Your paper will be read and evaluated holistically by two different readers.
7. Allow up to two weeks for
