Final Case Assessment: Park24 – Reinventing the Parking Industry in Japan (Blue Ocean Strategy Analysis)

Final Case Assessment Overview
This final case assessment will focus on the Park24-Reinventing the Parking Industry in Japan
case study. The case study analysis must be a 3-5 pages single spaced report not including cover
page and appendices.
The report is to be written using a Blue Ocean Strategy analysis.
• Brief outline an explanation of industry conditions and assumptions. 1-2 paragraphs (10%).
• Analyze/identification of Noncustomers and pain points in the Buyer Experience (50%).
This analysis should be broken down into:
o Noncustomer Analysis: First tier, Second tier, Third tier
o Buyer Utility Map and written explanation
o Identify Key Components of Industry and an ERRC Table with written explanation
Based on your analysis answer the following questions:
1. How did Time’s business model support and reinforce its value proposition? (20%)
2. How did Park24 deepen and expand its blue ocean over the years? What move did it
make to renew the blue ocean? (20%)
NOTE: There are questions located at the end of the case – Do NOT answer these directly in
the assignment. Think about those questions as you read and analysis the issues facing the
company.
Deliverable
Each individual is required to submit the assignment in business report format with appropriate
cover page, sections and pagination to show distinct report sections, references and appendices
that contain the required elements which demonstrate analysis of the fundamental issues facing
the company.
Any worksheets, tables / grids etc. should be included as appendices / additional pages within the
report if they are not directly relevant to the analysis.
There is no requirement to use external sources of information, data, analysis, ideas and/or
suggestions related to the case. Your analysis should be based on the information provided in
the case using the key course concepts and theories.
