Evaluating the Reliability and Clinical Utility of the Arthrometer in Assessing Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injuries
January 10, 2025January 10, 2025
Discipline: Healthcare
This study aims to evaluate the Arthrometer:
1. Reliability: Examining its consistency and repeatability through inter-rater and intra-rater reliability
2. Clinical Utility: Determining diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity, specificity, and predictive values) compared to MRI, considered the gold standard in ACL injury assessment
Research Question
Main Research Question
How reliable and clinically useful is the Lachmeter Arthrometer in assessing the severity of ACL injuries in adults aged 18 to 60?
Hypotheses
Positive Hypothesis (H1): The Lachmeter Arthrometer demonstrates high reliability (inter- and intra-rater reliability with ICC > 0.8) and diagnostic accuracy comparable to MRI, allowing it to consistently and accurately assess ACL injuries.
Negative Hypothesis (H0): The Lachmeter Arthrometer does not exhibit sufficient reliability (ICC < 0.8) or diagnostic accuracy for ACL injury assessment compared to MRI.
I have designed the methodology but i need review of literature and citations
