I am going to look at how traditional recipes are passed down and how food plays a role in cultural
conservation in African culture. I will visit the homes of 3 first-generation African sisters. Their mother
recently came to visit from their homeland of Kenya, and they have been whipping up her favorite
traditional meals. I will start visiting hoe household every weekend for the nest three weekends. I will
ask them to make their favorite Kenyan dish with their mother. I will observe how they work in the
kitchen together and how detailed the dish is made. Food in general is one of my favorite things to
explore. Everyone has a unique perspective on traditional meals. I would like to see how the traditional
meal was made in the past and how it is made now.
