Hello Lawrence,
I hope you’re doing well.
Some time ago, you wrote a research proposal for me. As I mentioned back then, I planned to conduct the fieldwork myself and then send you the data so you could write the thesis. Between February and the end of April, I completed the data collection.
The methodology I used was mainly autoethnography, I wrote my own life story, conducted two additional life stories, and carried out 12 interviews. All of these were originally in Arabic, and I have transcribed and translated them into English. In addition, I made some field observations during this period.
Now, I would like to ask you to write the thesis based on this material. Please manually code the interviews, either without using software, or if you use something like Atlas.ti, please mention that the coding was done manually.
I would prefer the thesis to be written in a storytelling style, rather than in a formal report format.
As for the thesis structure, here is the outline I had in mind (feel free to adjust it if you think necessary):
- Theoretical Framework
- Belonging, integration theories, identity formation
- Chapters
1. Employment Journeys
2. Navigating Barriers & Building Bridges
3. The Workplace as a Site of Belonging
4. Beyond Work: Broader Integration
I will attach the following files:
- The research proposal you previously wrote
- Three life stories (including my own)
- Twelve interview transcriptions
- Field observations
- A list of references (please use some of them in the thesis)
Please anonymize the names of the respondents
