Instructions
Post two email messages that address the following prompt:
-
- Find an internship or job opportunity within your future profession that you are interested in applying for.
- Once you find an internship or job opportunity, write a short email message to request one (1) recommendation letter from a professor of your choice. This professor should be based in the United States and should be one that knows you well. Make sure you clarify which position you are requesting a recommendation letter for and when you would need the completed letter.
- Next, imagine you realized you needed one (1) more additional recommendation letter for your application that is due in a week. This time the only professor you can think of asking on such short notice is based in China (they were your instructor during a study abroad trip). You did well in two of Dr. Song’s study abroad classes and you have an amicable but formal relationship. Keeping in mind intercultural and cross-cultural elements, write a short email message to request the reference letter.
