Diagnostic Accuracy of Opportunistic Lumbar Spine MRI Biomarkers for Detecting Osteoporosis: A Systematic literature Review.
i need to do a publication of systematic review for my PhD here is the objective
1.1.Objectives
- Primary Objective: To systematically evaluate the diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity, specificity, AUC) of lumbar spine MRI biomarkers for the detection of osteoporosis in adults, using DXA as the reference standard.
- Specific Objectives:
- To identify and synthesize the evidence on specific quantitative MRI biomarkers (e.g., PDFF, T1, T2, T2 STAR mapping, ADC) for detecting osteoporosis.
- To determine the correlation between these MRI bone marrow biomarkers and DXA-derived Bone Mineral Density (BMD).
- To evaluate the reported utility of these MRI biomarkers in predicting osteoporotic fractures, where data is available.
- As a secondary objective, to synthesize available data on the correlation between MRI-derived paraspinal muscle composition biomarkers and bone health status.
- To identify methodological limitations, challenges in standardization, and research gaps in the current literature.
