Problem (research question): What are the determinants ofdigital currency adoption, and how does it impact the traditionalbanking systems within the European Union?

 

Aim: To analyze the factors influencing the adoption of digitalcurrencies and assess their subsequent effects on the traditionalbanking systems in the EU.

Objectives: .

 

1. Identify the key drivers of digital currency adoption among individuals and businesses in the EU.
2. To examine the regulatory environment and its role in digital currency adoption within the EU.
3. To assess the technological readiness of EU banking systems for integration with digital currencies  
4. To evaluate the economic consequences of digital currency adoption on traditional banking revenue streams and profitability.
5. To explore consumer attitudes towards digital currencies and their trust in traditional banking in the context of emerging digital activities.

Proposed research method: A mixed-methods approachcomprising quantitative analysis of survey data and qualitativecase studies of EU banks integrating digital currencies.

Variables

Dependent variable: Rate of digital currency adoption within theEU.

Independent variable: Regulatory framework, technologicalreadiness, consumer attitudes, economic incentives.

Control variables: Age demographics, income levels, education, digital literacy.

Sources of data: Primary data from surveys conducted with EU citizens and financial managers of EU banks. Secondary data from EU regulatory publications, financial reports of banks, anddigital currency transaction records)
