Description
Assignment Details
The Instructional Design Document (IDD) is used throughout the design and development process in that it represents a comprehensive description of your learning module. Therefore, in Unit 2, you will be required to incorporate faculty feedback from Unit 1 and complete your IDD. Because this will be the last review of your design by the faculty subject matter expert (SME) prior to your storyboard creation, you are encouraged to be as thorough as possible. Creativity and originality are encouraged. At a minimum, be sure to address the following:
- Methods of Assessment
- Instructional Strategies
- Learner Activities
For the Methods of Assessment section, ensure that your criterion-referenced assessment contains at least 10 test questions, and your Learning Activity section should contain at least 4 interactive self-assessment quiz questions, in which all of the possible answers include formative feedback.
Note: Your final submission should be your completed IDD with the appropriate level of detail so that your SME faculty is able to clearly assess your entire design plan and offer final design feedback prior to your creation planned for Unit 3.
Suggestion: You are encouraged to explore the Storyline 360 authoring tool that you will be using to develop and implement your final online learning module. The AIU M.Ed. Storyline 360 Users Guide here is provided to guide you through the basics of the tool. Testing the features during this unit will give you an opportunity to build confidence in using the tool.
Please submit your assignment.
For assistance with your assignment, please use your text, Web resources, and all course materials.
Your assignment will be graded in accordance with the grading rubric criteria. Review the grading rubric.
Overview
Based on the Instructional Design Document (IDD) that you created in Unit 1, Unit 2 will focus on the instructional media and education technology considerations of your design. Specifically, you will incorporate your faculty instructional subject-matter expert (SME) feedback to complete your IDD in preparation for storyboard creation in Unit 3. During the discussion in this unit, you will consider the unique elements involved in learning and engagement in an online learning environment, with a focus on Web 2.0 tools and an introduction to game-based engagement. Unit 2 is a great opportunity to test out features of Storyline 360 before you begin your development and pilot implementation in Units 3 and 4.
