The Short Reflection is a formal 2-3-page response that should be typed, double spaced and have numbered pages. A cover page should include the title of your reflection, your name, and your tutorial leader’s name. This portion of the assignment should be submitted to the E-class drobox on the course homepage. Choose a title carefully that will suggest the main ideas of your reflection. Include carefully cited references within the body of the analysis and a works cited page at the end. Please use MLA format.
The short reflection should offer a nuanced discussion of how one of the suggested themes from Ernest Gaines’s novel, The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, helps you think differently about material discussed in the first term of the course. The short reflection can be an expansion of your e-class forum posts. Use relevant sources from the first semester of the course (readings, e-class posts, lectures) to support your reading of the novel and how it helps you think through the material and themes discussed in the fall term.
