  • LGBTQ+ specific issues

    • Additional emotional weight due to the struggle for marriage equality. “Failure” at marriage after gaining legal access to be married. Meaning of marriage for queer folks.

    • Legal and parental challenges 

  • Existing support: limited to online peer support groups, individual LGBTQ+ affirming therapy if accessible (a few sentences) AND/OR Divorce Support Interventions

  • Recap of needs of LGBTQ+ divorced folks 

  • Approach: Narrative Therapy (?), 6 Stages of Grief (?), and Motivational Interviewing (?)

    • Narrative therapy emphasizes client autonomy and resilience. It focuses on meaning making, the client as expert, and deconstructing dominant cultural discourses/socially constructed beliefs that influence the issue 

I already have three which is opening forming, Moving forward with interpersonal relationship, and closing. I need 4 more ideas one of them has to be about  parental challenges (e.g., custody issues). Create an outline of the Group therapy work that will be done for each session.
